Hello Niko's Buddies,

We love being outside! Mommy and I trimmed a bush yesterday, and will do the rest today. The only part Mommy doesn't like, is cleaning up the leafy mess. The bush looks really good. I stayed by Mommy the whole time. I went into the garage a few times, but I came right back. I held onto my scraper and rock the whole time. Mommy brought out the broom to sweep, and that was my favorite part. Mommy let me sweep! We are very glad the weather is nice, so we can resume our walks again. We try to go every night. It is a good relaxer for Mommy and I. Sometimes, Daddy walks with us too.

My sleeping still stinks. I caught another cold last Saturday - but Mommy used vapor rub this time, and it was wonderful. She also used some drops in my nose and stuck something up my nose. I didn't like that too much. That was a two person job. I slept really good for two nights and now I give Mommy a hard time about going to sleep and sometimes wake up twice a night. I almost changed my bedtime again - but it is back at 9pm. Mommy got a couple of 8:15pm last week. I caught onto her trick though.

Today is Great Grandma Julia's Memorial. Mommy and I are about to head over to church and say a few prayers for Great Grandma Julia. Baba, Mommy and Daddy still miss her very much.

When we come home Mommy and I will continue to trim our bushes. Have a great Sunday!

17 Months

Hi Everyone,

We have had a pretty busy week here. Grammy came over on Monday and babysat, while Mommy and Daddy went to work. We had a good time. Mommy has been taking me outside everyday to play. I love being outside! We found a new place to explore. I have been in a pretty good mood and starting to say some new words.

Mommy took me outside yesterday and let me play on the deck. She was very tired from her Field Day at School, so she filled up a bucket of water and I played in that for awhile. It was hot yesterday and the water felt good on my arms. Mommy was surprised that I did not wander off. She was sitting with me, but sometimes I stray - not too far though, I can't leave my Mommy!

We have a pretty busy weekend. Baba Christine is coming over on Saturday. Mommy is going to visit Daddy for a little awhile at work. On Sunday, we may go to the Zoo. Depending on my mood. On Monday, we are going to the Amherst Memorial Day Parade and to a Pancake Breakfast. I am also going back to Little Gym on Saturday. I will try to be on my best behavior.

I did turn 17 months on May 19th. No doctor visit this month. However, when I was sick, I went to the doctor a few times and I weighed 19 pounds. I have mastered the stairs. Mommy still can't get over on how well I do the steps. I love to close doors. I am starting to say new words, but Mommy and Daddy's favorite word is SHOES. I said BUBBLES for Mommy last Sunday.

Hi Everyone,

We have some breaking news! My molars are coming through. Mommy knew something was up and she made Miss Kathie check, and sure enough - I popped a molar. Mommy thinks there are many more that I am working on right now. My sleep is terrible at night. I have been waking up every single night for two weeks straight. I am up for three hours, usually 12 - 3am. Mommy is tired! One night, I did kind of sleep - was when Mommy gave me some gel for my gums. I cried a few times that night, but it wasn't very serious.

I was a pretty good boy this week. I was back in my normal routine of going to Miss Kathie's. I do cry now when Daddy leaves me in the morning. Mommy thinks that is cute. We also got to play outside for a little bit, while waiting for Daddy to come home. Mommy and I are going for our walks again, which we love. I don't sit as still as I used though. I move my feet a lot. Mommy gives me a graham cracker to occupy me. Those are my new favorite snacks. I am not being a very good boy at Little Gym and Mommy is thinking about not taking me back. I get very excited and happy to play at the Little Gym and I want to show my new friends how excited I am, but they are not okay with it. We will see for next Saturday and if Mommy decides to go.

I will update the blog on Tuesday when I turn 17 months old - WOW! Love, Niko

Hi Everyone,

We have had another busy week. After Grammy Joy's surgery and Great Grandma Julia's funeral, I decided to get sick. It started last Sunday and lasted a whole week. I had a virus that turned into a cold. Baba Christine watched me on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then had to come back on Thursday because my virus turned into a cold, and Mommy did not feel comfortable sending me to Miss Kathie's. Mommy feels so bad that I was sick. She said it was the worst cold I have had so far, but we know there will be many more illnesses.

Not everything was bad this week. I learned how to go down the steps all by myself. Mommy has officially moved the cairo away from the steps. She is so glad to have her steps back. Mommy and Daddy are pretty impressed with my stairs skill. I am also trying to feed myself. Mealtimes are not that fun though. I am a very determined little boy. I want to do things my way - enter the temper tantrums. Yep, they are back. I scream and roll around on the floor. Mommy, that meanie - doesn't do anything, she just ignores me! My mood hasn't been the greatest. Mommy thinks I may be teething - hence the screaming.

I wanted to wish my Mommy and Grandmas a very Happy Mother's Day! We had a wonderful time at Uncle Dave's, and I was in one of my rare good moods.

Greetings Niko Fans,

Mommy is very sorry that she did not let me use the computer for a couple weeks. Our little family has been very busy. We are hoping for a quiet May, but we don't think so :)

We have very sad news. Great Grandma Julia passed away last Sunday. I was able to see her one more time last Saturday. She looked right at me, and we said our goodbyes then. Mommy and Daddy said their goodbyes on Sunday. I was really glad I got to meet great grandma Julia. She held me when I was only a couple days old, and was able to attend my Baptism last July. Great Grandma Julia was always excited to see me. Mommy and Daddy promise to tell me stories of Grandma Julia when I get older and I can understand better. I know that she will be deeply missed.

Grammy Joy had surgery on the same day as Great Grandma Julia's funeral. She is doing okay, and Mommy and I may go visit sometime next week. We send her lots of love. We also send Baba Christine lots of love too, and hopefully our visit on Saturday helped her heart a little. I did get to meet my cousins for the first time. They are wonderful cousins. Tanner chased after me for a while, and Tyler let me play with his cars and I "tackled" him a few times.

Today I came down with a fever and feeling icky. Mommy has a long week ahead of her. She may have to take a few days off from work - Baba Christine will help out too, if I do not feel better.
