Saturday

My mommy and I
Going to the library - "Bye"

Mommy dropped a postcard and I was there to pick it up

My name is Nicholas A. - I am two!
Hi Everyone,
The last picture probably says it all - yep, I have another cold. The last one really wasn't a cold, but this one is :) I went almost two months without a cold. Now, it is the season for getting sick, so you know I will catch something during this sick season. My behavior has been pretty good. I am not acting sick - but I am drinking a lot. I also have a lot of poopie diapers. I had four yesterday and three today! I am a pooping machine - and Mommy wouldn't mind if the switch was turned off for a little bit.
Our Saturdays, usually consist of Mommy and I. We go out to breakfast sometimes with Baba and Grandpa. Then I come home and take a nap or Mommy cleans. We go to the library every two to three weeks. I am getting very restless when I go into a library. We will see if I can control myself better next time. Because of the cold weather, we can't go to the park anymore. We usually go to the park on Saturdays. We can't wait for Spring!! Mommy told me that we will be heading to the condo in the next couple of weeks. We will be doing some work on the condo, so Mommy and Daddy can put it up for sale. Our Saturdays will change for a bit.
My week was okay. I did not see Mommy for two days. She had parent / teacher meetings. My vocabulary is expanding. I like to say the word "stuck" now. Some of our favorite words are : hot, ouch, George, booboo, uh-oh, mine, book, Boots, D (daddy), cold, wet, mess, milk, juice, cake, etc. Mommy is loving that I can unzip my jacket. I also throw away paper plates now. We are having a good time!
Have a wonderful Sunday!! Love, Niko

Winter Walk

They were here!
Going to the "way" back - up ahead is where Mommy got her car stuck :) - I laughed when she did that!

Ooh! Snow that is melting is the best kind of snow!!

Hi Niko Fans,
Mommy and I are sorry for not updating the blog. We really can only blog once a week, and that is on Saturday or Sunday. Mommy is just too busy during the week. The pictures are from our Winter Walk last Monday. Mommy did have the day off - so we decided to take a little walk in our backyard :) Mommy was going to take me to the park, but then she thought - Duh! We can use our backyard for the walk :) We had a good time. I think Mommy wanted to stay out longer, but my hands were getting cold. I also refused to wear my hood for most of the walk. I do have my stubborn ways. We probably stayed outside for 15 minutes which was 5 minutes longer than our first snowfall experience. We saw deer tracks but no deer. I did like the snow, it was so crunchy!!
Mommy did get a call that day from my doctor. She said my blood work from Saturday came back normal. However, I have to go to a specialist for more tests. I heard Mommy telling Daddy and Baba that there will be more blood taken. Grammy is coming with us this time - so maybe it will be a little easier. That appointment is not until April. The doctor said that is okay, since I just turned two - we can wait a little longer and see if maybe I will grow some in the next two months.
I have been pretty good. I was a little whiny this weekend. Mommy blames it on the terrible twos, which it probably is. I also had the big "D" this weekend. Mommy is cutting back or taking away the apple juice and tomatoes for awhile.
I impress Mommy everyday. Today we came home from church and I unzipped my jacket and took it off. I also take off my pants ALL the time - but that is another story ;) My vocabulary is building and building. Mommy tells Daddy that he has to watch what he says now.
Well I really need to go sleep - I had a long, busy day. Have a wonderful week!!! Love, Niko

2 year check up

Hi Everyone,

It will be awhile before I forgive Mommy for this check - up. Not fun at all!!! Baba took me to the doctor, since Mommy had to work. They have really strange hours - so it would be very hard for Mommy to take me to a check - up. Plus, Mommy had to book this appointment a month ago!! Overall, everything went fine. I am right on track with almost everything. I weigh over 23 pounds (uh, I had a little growth / food spurt in the last month). Mommy read the handout the doctor gave her, and I am right on target with my emotional development :) That's where the terrible twos come from. I got one shot and the H1N1 flu shot. I did okay with everything - I had no reaction. Mommy and Baba thought I felt a little warm at one point yesterday afternoon, but after awhile, I felt fine. They also gave Mommy some eardrops for my ears, I have major ear wax build up - so, we have to do drops for a week - ugh!

The doctor did call Mommy at 4:57 last night and left a message. Mommy called back at 5pm and they were closed :) Mommy thought this was unusual, because a doctor never calls. So, she called this morning, and the nurse told Mommy that some bloodwork needed to be done. The doctor reviewed my growth / height chart and she was a little concerned to see that I haven't grown too much in the past 6 months. My old doctor told us at my one year appointment, that if I didn't grow very much, tests would have to be done. Mommy and I went to the lab today and they took 4 vials of blood. I did okay. I cried of course, but Mommy didn't :) As we left the lab, we walked into the waiting room and with my tear streaked face, I said a weak bye to everyone - everyone said "aw". We should have the results by Wednesday.

Mommy does have a long weeked. We are planning to go on a Winter Walk on Monday. It should be interesting. You can expect pictures!!! Have a wonderful weekend, I am going to bed - What a day!!! Love, Niko

Always There!

These go in here - okay not really, they are already clean!
taking the clean 'poons and putting them in the water

2 or deer - my favorite saying, after I saw two deer one day

2 deer? Nope, not today :(

Hi Niko Fans,

Yep, I am always there whenever Mommy needs me or my help! Sometimes, she doesn't even ask for my help - I just to do it on my own. I am a very big helper. I throw away pee-pee diapers for my Mommy. She tells me to throw it in the trash bag and I do. I can also put my clothes (and other things) down the chute. I have gotten very good about sharing. My mommy will ask if she can have something, and I will give it to her. The pictures above show my dish washing skills. I am only there because I like when Mommy turns on the water. I fill up the cups and throw already clean silverware in the soapy water. Don't worry, Mommy moved the knives to a very high place. She also doesn't wash glasses when I am around. We have fun with the dishes!!

I have been an okay boy this week. It finally was a normal week. I went back to the sitters and my grandmas were back on their normal schedule. I have been very attached to all my ladies lately. The grandpas are okay - but I don't want to be alone with them, and I am stuck to my ladies like velcro. Even on Saturday, Daddy had a hard time getting me to settle down - because Mommy had to go get some cheese.

I have all four "I" teeth. My sleeping stinks again, so we have no idea this time. I do go down at 8pm but I have been getting up between 4:30 and 5:30am. Mommy is not pleased with that idea. I may also be coming down with another cold. I have a runny nose and a cough. Mommy hopes it is nothing too serious. This once every month sickness is getting very crazy!

I need to go to bed - my naps are stinking too! Only an hour nap today :) Have a wonderful week!!! Love, Niko

"no" as in SNOW

Hi Everyone,

Mommy is totally digging her new camera. She is no longer upset about putting up pictures on the blog. We had our first snowfall this year. It was on the Monday after Christmas. Mommy just HAD to take me out in the snow. I really was okay with staying inside for once. Mommy put on my new snowsuit, which I gave her a hard time about. Then the boots, which were totally new to me. I did not know how to walk in those things. I got the hang of it once we were outside. The winter coat was very easy. I would not put on my gloves or hat. Mommy wasn't worried about the hat, because I have a super, duper hood on my coat. Mommy told me that I would want my gloves on when we went outside. I touch a little pile of snow with my hands and I was not happy. I really wasn't happy when Mommy forced the gloves on my hands, but we did get some good quality time outside. We were out ten minutes longer than last year! I tried to help Mommy shovel the driveway, but the shovel is too big for me. Hopefully, we can get outside again this winter.

We had a wonderful week. My age is showing. I am throwing fits and doing naughty things. Mommy and Daddy really can't stand when I throw things around. I throw everything. I do get into trouble for that - but I keep doing it. I have been doing some yelling, and Mommy walks away when I do this. A few times in a store, when it was time to leave - I would get whiney and scream. Again, I am showing my age. Mommy still loves me and we had a great week together. I am a very big helper. Mommy can't believe all the new things I am learning. I also have three new teeth. Since I have the new teeth - my sleep has been wonderful.

Mommy might do one blog this week. It is back to school for her. If we don't blog this week, there will be one on Saturday or Sunday! Have a wonderful week. Love, Niko

#1 Memory - Boo at the Zoo

October 2009

Our favorite memory this year -- Boo at the Zoo. I was just getting over another illness this year, so I wasn't really ready to party yet, but we made the best out of it. Our little family had a wonderful time. I really had a good time! I did the monster mash, and the hay maze pretty well. We will go back next year. I will be a little older - so hopefully, we will stay a little longer next year.

Our blog will continue in 2010. We have no idea what the new year will bring. Hopefully, only good things. Mommy already has a blog for Saturday. We experienced our first snowfall on Abbe Road - and of course Mommy took pictures - with her new camera!!! Yep, Mommy got a new camera. She is very excited about updating the blog with better quality picutres!!! Have a wonderful new year!!! Love, Niko
