Haircut (Finally!)

After picture - I am looking at my Daddy
A before shot
Hi Everyone,
When I turned two years old, I decided my hair would not be cut anymore. It wasn't bothering me (except at bath time) - so, I was going to say "no" to future haircuts. When I was ten months old, I got my first haircut - and I did great. A couple times after that, I was fine. I would sit in Mommy's lap and snip, snip. That all stopped this past Fall. I would get very upset about getting my haircut. Almost as upset when Mommy mentions that guy with the white beard. Mommy, Grammy, and Baba had enough. A couple weeks ago, Baba took me to get a haircut - only half my head got cut :) Then Grammy took me on Friday. We went to a kids haircut place. There were a lot of distractions. I did okay. Grammy had to hold my head while the lady cut my hair, but she did and I love it. It is so easy to take care of. Mommy only has to wash my hair once with the washcloth to get all the shampoo out. We all are liking the new 'do.
My behavior was pretty good this week. On Saturday, I had few terrible two moments. I am becoming a screamer, and Mommy is not okay with that. I screamed a few times at Breakfast. Mommy was not very pleased, and we left quickly. We went to the condo and I did really well there. I kept myself occupied and Mommy has no problem taking me back there while she cleans. On Sunday, we went to Church. I was a really good boy. We were only in the cry room for 5 minutes! Then we came home and I took a 2 1/2 hour nap. I could have gone longer, but Mommy woke me up, and I was not happy about that. I cried a little. Mommy knows I would not go to sleep at 8pm, if she let me sleep longer. She is VERY big on keeping that bedtime, and that is okay. We went shopping and I was good there too! We are just having some terrible two moments - at least they don't last all day.
I am really understanding my ABC's. Grammy and I can spell my name with letter foamies. I tell her what letter comes next in my name. I can point to pictures and say the ABC's. I also know what letter comes next... I am liking books, and I love having them read to me. I have started saying "yes". Mommy loves when I say "yes". I only say one kitty's name - Boots. Some other words, "up", "stop", "book", "cold", "hot". I also created a new game in the bathtub. I put one of Mommy's soap bottles on the edge of the tub and I use an empty wipe bag and I throw the bag to try to knock down the bottle. Mommy was pretty impressed with my new skill.
Okay, time for bed. We may have a bonus blog - my first bubble bath!!! :) Good Night! Love, Niko

Pencil with an eraser! This was a hit for awhile :)

Just because - Aren't I cute?

Hi Niko Fans,
Happy Late Valentine's Day. We know we are a day late, but Mommy hasn't been feeling too well this past weekend. The family cold finally hit her. I tried to be on my best behavior this weekend, and I think I did pretty good. I know Mommy took naps when I took mine - which is fine by me. She hopes and prays that it doesn't come back to me. We could be in for some long nights again. Our Valentine's day was okay. Daddy doesn't really do much on this special day, and it tends to make Mommy a little mad - but all was forgiven by dinner :) Daddy bought Mommy chocolate covered strawberries. On Friday, Mommy brought home her Valentines from her class, and she was surprised that I wanted to open them. I don't know why she was surprised, since I am into everything - but Mommy didn't even have the time to take them out of her bag. The students in Mommy's class even asked her if they could give me a card - isn't that nice? I sure had a good time with the Valentines.
Mommy thinks I am a newborn again. I am putting everything in my mouth. I stopped this for awhile, but all of the sudden - if it is hard and wet - it goes in my mouth. Mommy watched me put every single toy in my mouth tonight when I was taking a bath. Maybe two year molars? My mouth does feel a little funny. Mommy was hoping for a break from teething - but I don't think so.
Mommy had a long weekend, and we went to get the mail from the condo on Saturday. We were going to do some cleaning, but Mommy's head hurt too bad. We will go this Saturday. On Sunday we went to Church. On Monday, we went to the Library and store. I was okay at the library, until it was time to leave, because I wanted to run around, and then when we went to check out the book, I screamed. Mommy may have to go by herself for awhile. We got some dirty looks today.
Well, Mommy and I need to go to sleep. Have a good week!!! Love, Niko

Winter Blahs

Pay Attention to the cute kid - not the messy counter :)
*Counter was cleaned after I took the picture ;) *
My Sid the Science Kid Shirt!

Hi Niko Fans,
Mommy really hasn't had many chances to take pictures this weekend. We had a lot of snow on Friday! I am getting tired of the snow. I am not a normal kid that likes to play in the snow. I spend about 10 minutes in the snow and then I am done. Plus, we had a lot of wind from Lake Erie on Saturday. Our doors were rattling. Mommy and Daddy were supposed to do their taxes, but they had to cancel, because Mommy got stuck in the driveway (again). Daddy and Mommy spent the whole morning and into the afteroon, shoveling the snow. Mommy told Daddy that they need to get the snowblower fixed. We are supposed to have more snow in the middle of the week.
I have been a very good boy this week. Mommy was surprised that I was quite good. On Friday, the wheels came off a little. I have been saying some new words this week. I like to say "poop" (alot), "stuck", "stop", "book", "Boots". Mommy has next Monday off, and I think she has something fun planned. Have a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday! Daddy will probably watch the Superbowl, and I will be asleep, and Mommy will be on the computer ;)
Love, Niko
