Favorite Memory #1 - Summer Hikes

I love spending my summers with this kid. We have a great time. This year, we tried something new. Since we moved back to Northfield and he was old enough, I decided to try hikes and spend time at the Park. We LOVED it! We had such a good time :) The hike was just long enough for both of us. We went into the Nature Center and played some games and visited out favorite turtle "Tuck."
I am hoping to go on more hikes this summer. They won't happen until the end of June, but this is one of the activities in the summer that we really enjoy. I won't go into the bond that I have with this child, due to hormone issues :) but Niko and I are very close, and with a little help from my Mom, I am hoping to visit the playground and the park with my #1 son :)

Favorite Memory #2 - Boo at the Zoo

Oops! We forgot to the blog yesterday. We had some excitement going on, so pardon our mistake. I will do a blog this morning and then the number 1 memory tonight.

Favorite Memory #2 - Boo at the Zoo 2010. We had a blast. Niko wasn't feeling well, but we went anyway. He had a great time. My mom came with us this year, and I think she enjoyed it as well. We will keep going until Niko gets too old. It is a wonderful Fall activity!!!

Favorite Memory #3 ( A tie)

Well, it is that time of the year again! Time to take a look back at all the things we did. I cannot believe how much we did this year. Some good and some bad. We only focus on the good things in Niko's blog. I think next year we will need five days for five favorite memories :)

In May - We began our Summer with the annual Amherst Memorial Day parade. This year was different. Niko was able to see "Papa's" truck! The nice fireman let Niko sit in one of the trucks. He was totally blown away! After that we sat and watched the parade. Nicholas was very antsy that day, so it was a short trip. This year it might only be Daddy and Niko going - since I will be very close to my due date. I am sure Daddy will take pictures for me :)

In August - We went to Indiana to visit family. Niko and I had our first long drive together. He did very well on the way there. We loved seeing our family. We had such a good time. However, Nicholas is not a good traveler. He was terrible in the hotel room, and ended up getting a tummy ache on the way home, because he would not poop for me! It was very nice to see everyone, and we will try to make it back there again next year!!

Growth - Niko was put on Growth Hormone treatment in May 2010. As of August 2010, he grew three inches. We will find out at the end of January how much Niko has grown since his last visit. We are pleased with our decision, even though this growth hormone treatment will be a long process.

Physical - Niko is always on the run. People always comment, does he ever walk? Not very often :) He is not a hyper child - just a happy child. He sleeps well at night. He likes his green car and loves being outside. I am glad he is active and wants to explore things

Mental - Niko is a three year old. We have our temper tantrums. I am very lucky that Niko is such a good boy. He likes to play with puzzles and read books. Coloring at home, comes and goes.

Health - For awhile we were the sick house. Niko got sick three times within three months. We only have made a few visits to the doctor office. Actually, I think we only went once for an ear infection. His eating habits have improved. I can no longer give him the graduate meals, they are not enough :) His sleeping pattern has improved. I still have to hold him and tell him a story. He sleeps through the night, which has been excellent.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Everyone!

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas or as Niko says "Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!". We are working on the Merry Christmas with him :) We wanted to share our little Christmas surprise with everyone! We have known for awhile, but I thought it was time to announce it on the blog.

3 Years Old!

Hi Everyone!


On Sunday, I turned three years old! Pretty soon, I won't need my Mommy's help with the blog anymore :) I had a very good (quiet) Birthday. Mommy doesn't do huge Birthday parties, so it was just the grandparents. Maybe when I get older and I make more friends, Mommy will let me have sleepovers. My Birthday also comes at a busy time of the year. Six days before Christmas! Mommy doesn't know what she was thinking :) I got all my big presents for my Birthday. Mommy promised me that there will be some toys for Christmas. We are leaving the toys up to Santa. Mommy and Daddy gave me a tricycle for my Birthday. I am so excited. I insisted that the bike be put together yesterday. Mommy needs help though. I am still waiting impatiently.

Mommy is on break now, and we are having a great time. Mommy let Daddy use the car yesterday and we stayed home. We had a great time. I was in the best mood! We played inside in the morning and then went outside in the afternoon. I played in the snow for an hour! There will be a blog about that snow trip. I have been such a good boy! Being three so far - is pretty good!!

There will be our end of the year blogs. Mommy will try to do one every day. My pictures in a year, and a year in a review, and something to look forward in 2011 :)

Hi Everyone,


We had a pretty exciting week, and it was for once in a good way!! Mommy had a snow day on Monday so we hid in the house all day! Mommy said No to my growth hormone appointment. The weather was just too bad. We decorated the Christmas tree instead. I handed Mommy the ornaments. We had some good team work going on.

After Monday, it was off to Miss Kathie's for three days. I was a very good boy there. On Friday, I went to Ahmi's house and we made Christmas cookies. I had a great time!! Miss Mary Ann came over that night, so Mommy and Daddy could go on a date and meet some friends. I was very good for her. I did not even cry when Mommy left.

Today, I got my haircut. I am getting my pictures done on Monday. Sadly, we won't be able to post any because Mommy's CD player doesn't work anymore :( I was a good boy for my haircut. I told Mommy I wanted to sit by myself. Mommy did have to hold my head and I was very antsy, but I did okay for my first time sitting by myself.

Tomorrow is a big day! I will be three years old!! Look for Birthday pictures :)

Hi Everyone,

I did it! I did it! Mommy, Ahmi, and P went to go see Santa Claus last Sunday. Daddy was still in the hospital, so we decided to give a trip to Santa a try. I told Mommy I was ready, and I was!! I did great. We were greeted by Rudolph and then we went to find Santa Claus. He was very nice and I told him what I wanted for Christmas. I am getting into the Christmas mood!!

We had another rough week. Mommy had to take me to Miss Kathie's every morning. That was hard on both of us. We both had to get up really early, and the weather was terrible! Daddy was in the hospital for a week. Then something happened to Mommy on the way home from visiting Daddy. She really hasn't told me much about it, but every time I see her boo-boo, I give it many kisses and rub it. She really appreciates that. I know that Mommy got into an accident and Daddy's car is a mess! They are not sure if they can fix it. Mommy was a little stressed because the guy did not stop. Oh, but you should see Mommy's bruise. It is very nasty - my poor Mommy!!

Things are finally back to normal, except for Daddy's car. Daddy is home and we had a nice Saturday. We went to Church and after the service they had pizza and a movie. We stayed for a little bit. I was running around a little too much and then we left. Next week, it is Polar Express, so I might be a little interested.

I peed on the potty on Thursday. We are finally getting somewhere. Mommy and Daddy are buying me pull - ups. They will only be used at home. I always want to go potty and Mommy is tired of taking off my diaper. This should work nicely :) I am almost three. I turn three next week. I also see the growth specialist on Monday. We might not go - it is suppose to snow - BIG TIME, and Mommy refuses to drive in that mess again. I think she learned her lesson.

Oh Christmas Tree!!

Hi Everyone,

Oh my what a week!! It started the Friday after Thanksgiving. I woke up with a stuffy nose. Mommy thought it was a cold that was coming. Nope, my body had other plans. Friday night, I started getting the poops. It lasted ALL day Saturday, with Mommy changing my diaper every 1/2 hour. It was so bad. My dupa was so red and raw. I was crying and screaming that it was hurting. Mommy felt so bad. She used a warm washcloth and tried to give me a bath so I would soak. I was needy and clingy of course :) I wasn't really acting sick though. I stopped eating on Saturday afternoon and then Mommy made soft pretzels at night. I ate those, but they didn't stay down very long. I went to to bed and gave Mommy a wake up call at 9:00pm. Mommy tried everything to calm me down. Eventually she put me back into bed, and then I did throw up. Mommy was a champ. She cleaned it up all by herself. Daddy held me. She is fine if she doesn't see me do it :) I have a weird Mommy. I threw up once more that night and had the other end working. After that, I slept for a straight seven hours. Sunday night, I ate a little more and was feeling better. I took really good naps that weekend. Mommy and Daddy kept me home on Monday, because I was still having the "squirts". Mommy says by Wednesday or Thursday, I was finally back to normal with the diaper changes :)

Daddy was on vacation all week. I am very excited!! Daddy started on my new room. We have paint on the walls!! I am so thrilled. I also have a bed, but we need to wait a few more weeks to get the bed in the room. Daddy took ill on Friday and spending a few days in the hospital. He will be okay, but this happens every three years. Mommy was mad at Daddy, but really this time it wasn't his fault :) I REALLY miss my daddy. Whenever I hear a noise, I say, "Daddy?!". I talked to him on the phone tonight and I told him that I loved him - without Mommy telling me to say it. We hope he comes home soon.

We are slowly getting our Christmas decorations up. We do not have a big tree yet. Hopefully we will get that next week! Mommy wants a real tree, we will see - since we have kitties :) Tomorrow, I am seeing Santa. I want to see Santa, but Mommy has her doubts. A fun night!

Hi Everyone!!

Last week, I decided I wanted to start coloring at home. I color at Miss Kathie's house, but I never have much interest at home. I rather play with my engines and put together my big puzzle. I was taking a bath one night, and I told Mommy I wanted to color with crayons. Mommy was a little shocked. I like to color for Ahmi and Miss Kathie, but like I said before - not a big fan of coloring at home. Mommy and I came downstairs and she got out the crayons and coloring books and I colored right in front of her. We had a good time. I could tell Mommy was very proud of me. She called it a "cute moment". This lady thinks everything I do is cute. Doesn't she know I will be three soon?! Oh, she will know soon enough - hehe!!!

I have been a very good boy this week. Mommy told me that I had to go Miss Kathie's today. I wasn't very happy about that, and Mommy felt bad. Mommy had to do Christmas and Birthday shopping for me! Tomorrow, is Thanksgiving. Mommy and I are a little sad that Ahimi and P won't be celebrating with us, but Baba and Papa will be over, which will be a lot of fun. Mommy doesn't think a nap will happen on Thanksgiving.

Mommy will do another post in a couple of days. We had a difficult year, but we found some things that we are very thankful for. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!!! Love, Niko

It's Snowing!!

Hi Everyone,

Mommy is a little behind on posting the pictures. We actually had our first "Snow Day" on November 5. Boy, did it snow. It started the night before and it snowed all day on Saturday. I was very excited that it was snowing. I went upstairs and got my boots and told Mommy, I was ready to go outside. We had some problems though. The boots were too big and I had no gloves. We will be prepared for the next snowfall. The following weekend..... It was 70 degrees and Mommy and I went to the playground :)

I have been a very good boy! Everyday since the behavior chart started, I have gotten a sticker. I did get my prize this weekend. I like my Bertie. Another prize was getting to see Ahmi. I did not see her all week. They moved into their new house, and Mommy and I visited them on Saturday. I like her new house! Mommy was very careful when we went there, since it is a new route. Mommy wanted to make sure I did not get upset with the new route. I did okay. When we were suppose to turn, I cried a little - but I was too excited to see Ahmi and P.
It's Thanksgiving week, so Mommy will be taking more pictures, and probably an extra blog. She has a little time this week :) Have a wonderful Monday!! Love, Niko

Hi Everyone,

Mommy decided to take some silly pictures of me while we were at a luncheon. I think I cooperated pretty well. We had to wait awhile for our food, but I was okay and then Mommy and I left right after we ate :)

I have been a very good boy this week. I earned three stickers on my chart. I am going to get Bertie ( a Thomas toy). I did not get to see my Mommy for two days. She had conferences at school. Ahmi picked me up from Miss Kathie's and Baba took care of me for those two days. Friday, Mommy and I spent the day together. Ahmi came over for a little bit too. We had a wonderful day. The weather has been so nice that we have been spending a lot of time outside. I love being outside. We went outside twice on Friday. Saturday, we went to the playground and we had a great time.
