Hi Niko Fans,

Since it has been too hot outside, Mommy and I have fun inside. We usually go out in the morning, before it gets too hot. Mommy knows that I love being outside, and we make it outside at least once a day. We go on hikes, walks, and many trips to the playgrounds around us. Mommy gave me permission to blow bubbles inside the house. Actually. I have Mommy blow the bubbles and I go "pop", "pop". I try to blow some bubbles, but I put it too close to my mouth.

I had a really good week. We went to the Zoo on Tuesday. I was a very good boy. I got to feed the seals. We also went and saw butterflies. I held Ahmi's hand the whole time and I did not touch anything. We had a really good time, because I was a good boy. On Thursday, Mommy and I went to the library. I am getting so much better with Library. My screaming fits are getting better. We don't want summer to end. Mommy and I are getting into the groove of things and we have a schedule of our weekly activities.

My parents went out tonight and when they came home, I was a real chatterbox. What did I talk about? I talked about THOMAS!

Hi Everyone,

I have been 2 1/2 for a month now, but Mommy decided to blog about my age anyway. We cannot believe how much I have changed. I have changed in so many ways. Mommy is loving all the changes I have made. We feel that I am right on track with my language and motor skills. I only needed help with my growing. We find out how much I have grown in two weeks. Mommy is very proud of me. I know my ABC's and numbers pretty good. I am always counting. We need to work on colors, but I do know some colors. There are so many words that I know. I love to repeat! I mostly repeat Mommy, which is a good thing ;) Mommy feels that in a year, I will be more than ready for PreSchool. Yep, in a year - I will be going to Preschool. First, I have to be potty trained :/

My behavior at this age, as Mommy hates to admit it - is probably on track for a two year old. Oh do I have my moments! Mommy handles it well though. We have timeouts and other forms of discipline. I know Mommy means business and that is good (for Mommy). Mommy still considers herself lucky - I am a pretty good kid. I love to help and I have to be right there. Sometimes, I let Mommy go potty by herself.

Some goals for the next six months - Potty Trained!! Mommy also wants to move me into a big bed. Mommy is on the lookout for a twin bed. I really don't think we will have big issues with the bed, but with me you never know! We will also continue to read books, and practice my ABCs, Numbers and Colors.

We have had a good week. My mood has been okay. We went for a hike today, and I did really well. I am a hiking boy, not a story time boy at all - Mommy found that out today. I have been having some sleeping issues again! This time Mommy had to get strict. She knew I was playing her and Daddy. The second night, I protested my bedtime, she opened my door and yelled! She told me to go to sleep now! I did what she said and I did not wake up in the middle of the night, like I was doing. I was giving them a hard time about going to bed and then I would cry for an hour in the middle of the night. I tried it again last night - and Mommy really yelled again - and then there was not a peep from me - all night. Tonight, I went right down, with no yelling. (side note: This is Niko's Mommy - It killed me to be soo stern, but it had to be done and it worked. I am a Mommy that likes to tell my son "Good Night and Mommy loves you", which I was able to do tonight :) )

Hi Niko Fans,

I love Choo - choos!! I am driving my parents crazy right now!! Thomas and Friends are surpassing Backyardigans. Mommy and Daddy do not know why and how I like Thomas. We never watched the show. Maybe because we have a lot of train tracks by our house and sometimes we see a train. Right now, I am a big fan of trains. I have my choo - choo book, which I love and read all the time. I have a Thomas and Friends outfit and some socks. Mommy went to the library and rented Thomas and Friends DVD. We watch it non-stop. Baba and Papa watched Thomas for three hours on Saturday! I can't get enough of Thomas and Friends!!

Mommy decided to cancel my story time for the rest of the summer. I just can't behave for Mommy. We both get very upset, and it's not worth making our whole day terrible. The librarian told Mommy, that in October they are having a special Thomas program. Mommy said I have to get better with my Library behavior before we go see Thomas. Mommy knows that I would like to go. Mommy is concerned with my public behavior. I seem to have no control. We can't wait until I am out of this stage. This week we may go to the Zoo again. I like the Zoo!!

Hi Everyone,

Uncle Dave got married on Friday July 9th. We have a new member of the family and her name is Aunt Melissa. I did very well at the ceremony. Everyone was surprised that I made it down the aisle without any problems. Mommy was very proud of me. Mommy thought the beginning of the ceremony was dragging and I was having a meltdown - Mommy wasn't too sure how much longer I would have lasted. We did a great job. Because my behavior wasn't the greatest on Thursday and there was a long break between the ceremony and reception, Mommy and Daddy thought it would be best if I went home and stayed with Faye Ann (my babysitter). Mommy and Daddy thought this was a good move, and personally I did too. I was able to wind down a lot better and slept through the night, unlike Thursday night. Mommy and Ahmi will do something very special with me this week or next (because Ahmi hurt her back) to celebrate my behavior at the Wedding.

My behavior is getting better. Mommy is still not pleased with my public behavior. We went to story time at the Library last Thursday, and we had to leave because I was crying and screaming so loud. I wanted to stay in the Children's section and it was time to move to Story time. My meltdowns are not pretty. I guess Thursday was not a good day for me :) At the rehearsal on Thursday, I was running around and not listening. There was a pond with fish, a beach, and a lot of mulch and flowers. It was also 90+ degrees. After Thursday, my behavior got a little better.

Greetings Niko Fans,

I am feeling much better! It took awhile for my eating habits to return, but I am A-OK now. Mommy celebrated on Saturday when I had a normal poop. Sometimes, my mommy is so funny! We have been taking a lot of pictures in my diaper. This is the attire that I prefer on HOT summer days. Mommy can't believe how hot it has been. I usually strip down to my diaper in the afternoon. Before the summer heat hit, Mommy wanted me to wear jammies to bed - but I won, and all I wear is a diaper - which now is okay with her. In the afternoons, Mommy makes popcorn and we watch the Backyardigans. Usually, we go to the playground and I get all sweaty. Mommy wants me to relax when we come home.

My mood / behavior has been okay. Terrible twos are getting worse :( We went out to dinner on 4Th of July and I played with a train set the WHOLE time. I would not let Mommy eat her dinner, and Daddy was not pleased with me. Mommy told him that the train set was a dream come true for me. I am really into trains right now. We may stop going out to eat for awhile though. I can't stay in my seat, and it is really stressing Mommy out. I have my good and bad days, but I am having more bad days.

I have a new saying - "NO WAY". Mommy does not approve of this saying. We are working on my manners.

Summer Sickness

Hi Niko Fans,

Mommy and I were suppose to blog about our trip to Lake Farm park. Well, someone decided to get sick, and yes - that would be me. We are not sure if it is a bug or if I drank bad milk. I was in one of my moments at the grocery store and Mommy just grabbed a milk, and it turned out the milk was five days overdue. I drank more than Mommy, before she realized that the milk did not taste right. Starting mid - morning on Wednesday (3 hours after drinking the milk), I started getting the poopie diapers and have not stopped. I also threw up - and that was an experience for Mommy and I. I only threw up twice, and then I was okay after that. Mommy has been very careful with what she is feeding me. When I woke up this morning - I ate two pieces of toast and some cheerios. That was all - until 5:30 tonight. I ate oatmeal and toast. By, 6:00pm - I was feeling more like myself. Mommy was glad - but wishes the diapers would take a break! Did I mention, I have some really bad toots? I blame them on Mommy. Even Daddy was impressed :)

My week has been okay. Mommy is going to try to take me to the playground on Friday. She told me that I had to have a "clean" diaper for most of the morning. Mommy tried to take me out this morning, but that was a no - go. I made it to the mailbox, but I had to be carried back home. I just didn't feel good. I have been sleeping really well :) I got up at 8am, then took a nap at 11:00am. I gave Mommy very little problems about going down for a nap or going to bed.

Well, I need to go to bed. I have dark circles under my eyes and my eyelids are heavy! Have a good weekend, and Happy 4th of July!! Love, Niko
